SEO is not necessarily an appropriate strategy for every website. There are other, potentially more effective, Internet marketing strategies depending on the site operator's goals. A successful Internet marketing campaign may drive organic traffic to web pages through optimization techniques, but it may also involve the use of paid advertising on search engines and other pages, building high quality web pages to engage and persuade, addressing technical issues that may keep search engines from crawling and indexing those sites, setting up analytics programs to enable site owners to measure their success, and improving a site's conversion rate.
SEO may generate a return on investment. However, search engines are not paid for organic search traffic, their algorithms may change, and there are no guarantees of continued referrals. Due to these uncertainties, a business that relies heavily on search engine traffic can suffer losses if the search engines stop sending visitors. It is considered wise business practice for website operators to liberate themselves from dependence on search engine traffic.
SEO is a perfectly viable strategy if you it's online visibility you want. Though, to be honest, it isn't the only strategy under the Internet Marketing umbrella that can bring great ROI.

Big and small businesses gain a huge number of visitors to their sites because of SEO. Ignoring SEO is just plain crazy!

Kenjie, I think Bradley is in no way denying the power of SEO as a marketing strategy, but rather is taking a wider perspective. That sir, is thinking outside the box. I know SEO, I breath it, drink it, and bleed it, but to say that SEO is everything that matters in internet marketing is more absurd than "Ignoring SEO," which as you say is "plain crazy."

I agree with the comments. If you want your website to be more visible, do something, so SEO.

SEO is the bread and butter of almost website owners especially those who have websites that rank well. SEO is not easy but it's not difficult as well. For as long as you know what you are doing then you are good to go.

It's much more complicated that just the bare essentials of "doing SEO." Social media, cross-platform link building, brand management, and other things that were once hiding under the shadow of SEO are now becoming a ranking factor that needs to be worked on.

While that might be true Larry, SEO is still vital to the internet marketing and brings good traffic and leads to a website. After all, SERPs are more likely to be explored than facebook fan pages or the likes.
ReplyDeleteWhite Label SEO
In my opinion, white label SEO is a sound investment. You can't get site visitors if they can't find you, and you can't get buyers if nobody visits your site.
ReplyDeleteEven a small or mid-sized business can benefit a lot from SEO. It's a great idea to use the different SEO strategies so you can have an advantage against your competitors.
